February 28, Rockies Spring Training Game 8

Ben Lively versus Kyle Freeland is your starting pitcher matchup. They would mirror each other in the fist inning giving up leadoff singles, Nick Martini and Steven Kwan respectively, that would make it to third base but no further. Martini would be the only blemish on Lively's performance as he also drew a walk in the third inning.

Freeland would need the aid of a double play to get through the second inning unscathed. A leadoff double in the bottom third ended up standing at third base when Jordan Beck, who has been struggling at the plate so far this spring, committed a throwing error. Kwan would force the run home on a sacrifice fly.

Innings 4-6 would feature the pitching matchup of Antonio Senzatela versus Kolby Allard. 

Hunter Goodman and Sam Hilliard would hit back-to-back singles to start the 4th. Hilliard would be picked off trying to steal second and Goodman would be stranded at third. Adael Amador led the 5th off with a single but only made it as of far as second base. Leading off the 6th, Sean Bouchard said screw this trying to manufacture runs on the basepath thing and hits his first homer of the spring tying the game at 1.

Senzatela was fire. Allowing only one baserunner, Senza collecting five outs on the ground, three in the air and collected a strikeout of Carlos Santana.

Diego Castillo's appearance commenced with a single and a double given up to the first two batters he faced. Then the Guardians did what they could to help him escape the inning without giving up a run by running into outs at home then at second base. Let the stat sheet show the Castillo has pitched three innings, two of which are zeros.

Justin Lawrence was not able to pull off the same Houdini act of his mound predecessor. Loading the bases with two walks and a hitter batter, Lawrence was able to collect two outs before giving a 2-run single. That is back-to-back outings that he has given up a run and thrown more balls than strikes.

Drew Romo picked up his first hit of the spring with 2-out in the 9th inning but that was all the Rox could muster falling in defeat to Cleveland.

 Under the category of "random Rockies players a fella liked too much", Jose Iglesias led the game off for the San Diego Padres. Yes it's absolutely cause he cried after he got his first hit as Rockie which was also his first hit since his father passed away. Preseason success against a "stop on the road team" for him is allowed. Unless you are really rooting for Jake Woodford to make the Opening Day roster or at least position himself to be an early callup during the season. This would be Woodford's third consecutive outing giving up at least a run. He did finish strong retiring the side in the second inning. In the bottom of the second, Thairo Estrada singled, stole second, moved to third on a "productive out" by Hunter Goodman then scored on a wild pitch. February 26, Rockies Spring Training Game 6

 Scrolling through Rockies Bluesky accounts, Renee  Dechert posted, " Patrick Saunders wrote in a column this morning that “barring a significant setback,” he expects Chase Dollander to start the season in the Rockies rotation. That friends makes today's starter Ryan Feltner number 4 on the Rockies rotation, if everyone is healthy. Seems logical to give him the Philadelphia game in Philly over the rookie. Feltner gave up 2 runs on 3 hits after watching his offense collect a hat-trick of strikeouts. Nick Martini hit a homer to put the Rockies on the board in the top of the second. An underwhelming thus far Adael Amador, with 2-on and 2-out, hit his first 2-bagger of spring training putting the Rockies ahead. Fittingly, Feltner's second inning of work was a wonderful 3-up, 3-down effort. Anthony Molina came on in the third to pitch for the Rox. March 9, Colorado Rockies Spring Training Game

 Ezequiel Tovar led off the top of the 4th with a double, making it two games in a row he has hit a double after going 0-9 the first three games of the month. Nolan Jones singled to bring him home as he raises his average to .172. To be fair, at this point he is hitting .333 in March. Starting pitcher Ryan Feltner made it to the fourth inning only allowing one baserunner. He would issue three consecutive walks in the fourth, albeit the first walk issued was thrown out trying to steal. Zach Agnos came in to relieve Feltner with 2-on and 2-out in a 1-run game (building up the pressure of the moment). Agnos got Rowdy Tellez to fly out, crisis averted! Agnos came back out for the 5th inning and with 1-out gave up his 3 home run of the spring. It is now a hat-trick of appearances giving up at least one run.
